Answers

General
1. What is the baby's due date?
July 25th, 2003
2. Do we want to know the sex of the baby in advance?
No, we prefer to have it remain a surprise. We like surprises.
3. Where do babies come from?
There are plenty of sites available that can tell (and show) you more than I ever could. Check google for more.
4. What will be the name of the child?
We have not settled on any names yet. We have ruled out a few choices, but will not disclose these so as to remain on good terms with everybody.
5. How many children are you expecting to deliver?
An important question as we are in genetically line for twins. Glen's father was a twin, and twins supposedly skip generations and are passed on the fathers side. to the best of our knowledge, we are having only one child.
6. How many kids do you want in total.
Two. This will be our first.
7. What will we NOT name the child?
For a great book on what not to name your child, check out the book Don't Name your Baby. Be sure to read this book when your wife is in a good mood, else it will drive her to new lows of depression and frustration.
Health Care Questions
8. What hospital are we using?
St. Josephs Womens Hospital, Tampa FL. Just across the way from Tampa Stadium, home of the Bucs.
9. Who is the doctor?
Dr. Knapp, on The Womans Group, in Tampa FL.
10. How much weight gain is expected?
Very little. Denise has enough weight already for the baby to take what it needs. Doctor says additional weight gain is not required.
11. Does Denise smoke?
No!
12. Dose Denise drink or do drugs?
No!
13. Have we heard the heart beat yet?
Yes. We first heard the beat on Jan 7th. Doctor estimated it at 170bpm, which is perfectly healthy for a yet unborn child.
14. Who will be allowed in the delivery room during labor?
We would like to limit the people in the room during labor to one or two. During active delivery, we do not want anybody in the room except medical staff. Anybody in the room will be asked to leave once Denise enters active labor. We also would like to be alone with our new baby for at least the first halfhour after delivery. We'll let wellwishers know when we are ready to introduce baby to world. Please don't be alarmed when asked to wait in the comon area.

15. How are we decorating the babies room?
We are going for an underwater theme. We have painted the room three colors, darker blue on the lower third, a lighter blue in the middle, and white at the top. The three color layers are separated by crisp, curving, mostly horozontal lines, making it look like water. We've trimmed the wall with a Rainbow Fish themed paper border, resting in the middle of the light blue color layer. We have random tropical fish and pictures hanging on the walls for added dimension. Pictures will be available soon.
16. What is the furniture like?
We've already purchased a crib, two dressers, and a changing table in a dark wood finish. The crib has a light wood finish. We've painted the dressers a light blue color, and made the drawers a dark blue color. We've also added bold stripes of color in a random, haphazzard fashion across the dresser and drawers. It's quite bold, and a little avant garde, but meshes well with the underwater theme. We will be using the smaller of the dressers as the changing table. The actual changing table has been painted blue, and will be stuck in the closet to serve as additional shelving and storage.
