Well, the site has mostly been moved. The code and the database now happily reside on Dreamhost servers. Some more clean up and I'll have wedding and baby back online. I might even start a new marathon journal to keep track of the training over the next year.

I suppose that there is no time like the present to begin training for the Annual Disney marathon. I'm not foolish enough to try a 26.2 mile run any time soon, but the half-marathon sounds right up my alley. This time next year, I'll be up at 4am with 26,000 of my closest friends to watch fireworks replace the starting gun, and jog around some of the most interesting 13.2 miles in existance, the Disney stage and backstage.

Update : I got a couple of books used from Amazon that offer a training schedule for novice runners. By training schedule, I mean a complete breakdown of what you should be doing each day for 17 weeks. By novice, I mean a person who hasn't run a 1/4 mile in probably 5 years. Stairs, no problem, tread wall, I'm good for 500 feet, but running. Hah!.

I'm the kind of person who benefits greatly from a regimented schedule. Having a day by day schedule gives me at least a fighting chance of working up to 13.2 miles. That and my iPod and a few audio books. I also picked up a book on stretching, to help strengthen my repitoire of limbering moves. It's good to have a goal, even if it's not a New Years Resolution.

How's this as an example of Apple integration and my daily life. I was working outside on a beautiful Monday afternoon, a day off of work thanks to Dr. King. To help with the otherwise silent day, I brought out my garage radio and my iPod, complete with the iTrip FM transmitter. I started the iPod, tunes the radio to the appropriate station, and proceeded to take down Christmas lights, change the oil in my car, and tidy the garage.

The iPod was broadcasting clear FM goodness, and I was rocking while working to my favorite angry music. The lights down, the engine purring on its ramps with fresh oil, I decided to get a soda to break the oil in and help my parched throat tidy the garage. So I turned off the radio, grabbed the iPod, and got in the car. No sooner did I sit down and turn up the radio than I heard my radio piping the same music playi g outside, all thanks to my iPod. My music lifestyle never broke stride. I continued listening to my agnry music getting my soda, the continued again once I returned to the garage.

Uninterrupted music is but one of the many things that Apple integration has brought to my life. More on that later.

Congrats Vince on your new arrival. I'll stop gushing now.

Happy Saturday. The only thing that would make this saturday better is if the organizers who arranged the Superbowl of Motorspots hadn't reorganized at the last minute. I bought tickets a year ago for the event today. But watching TV with Denise last week we saw a commercial advertising the event on the 22nd, the week after today. Some quick research later, and I was the proud owner of tickets for an event I'm not going to be in town for. I went out of my way to schedule my Oklahoma trip for the weekend the Superbowl was not, and now it was. Oh well.

Vince is aparently getting a good price for the tickets at his office. At least some good will come of the scheduling snafu. Another benefit is I get to watch the Pitsburg game uninterrupted.

Happy birthday Denise. I threw a very nice dinner for my wonderful wife. I let her enjoy the day to herself, while I did most of the housework. It started with breakfast at the BagelPlus restaurant near USF. After breakfast we picked up some pictures from Walmart, my new favorite photo lab.

I then spent the rest of the day making dinner. Here's the menu:

- SPINACH SALAD red peppers and mushrooms with a creamy vinaigrette dressing
- SPRING VEGETABLE SOUP mix of spinach, asparagus, carrots, potatoes, and leeks in a creamy broth
- ARTICHOKES steamed, served with butter
- KING CRAB LEGS steamed, served with butter
- CHICKEN MARSALA served with broccoli and penne
- CHOCOLATE CAKE filled with strawberries and frosted with fudge

We enjoyed dinner with my dad and brother, Denises mom and dad, and our friends Monica and Kevin, and their young son Ethan. The dinner and the conversation was excellent. Her mom got us a set of tickets to a comedy club in Clearwater, and Dad, Randy, and I got het a portable DVD player for her van, and I got her the promise of a date and a babysitter. Denise really enjoyed the evening. Not bad for what was put together in a short two day time span.
